Introducing SSTP VPN at LimeVPN

When using VPN, speed matters – but so does security. With that in mind we have introduced SSTP .

SSTP (Secure Socket Tunneling Protocol) is a Microsoft proprietary VPN protocol which was introduced with the release of Windows Vista.

The protocol is configured to work on port 443 and is considered to be more secure than PPTP and L2TP.

How does SSTP work?

When a user connects using SSTP, the system gets connected to the server through TCP and the user is validated via VPN username and password. The port used for this connection is port 443 which is the same as HTTPS connection.
