We Don't Keep Logs of
What You Browse or Connect To
What you do online is your business alone. LimeVPN does not retain logs of the websites you visit, domains you resolve, or traffic you send through the VPN. Minimal operational data is kept briefly to prevent abuse — not to track you.
What "activity logging" means
Activity logging means retaining records of what you browse, which domains you resolve, what traffic you send through the VPN, or which destinations you connect to online. LimeVPN does not keep those records.
Activity logging is distinct from account data (your email and subscription status), payment records (required for billing), and temporary operational session data (used for device limits and abuse prevention). Those categories exist and are explained clearly below — they cannot be used to identify your browsing behavior.
What We Do Not Retain as Long-Term Logs
This data is not collected, not stored persistently, and not accessible to anyone at LimeVPN.
Browsing Activity
Websites you visit, URLs, search queries, or any content of your internet sessions.
Your Real IP Address
Your originating IP address is not retained in long-term logs and is not linked to your browsing activity or account.
DNS Queries
Domain name lookups are resolved through our encrypted DNS servers and are not logged.
Traffic Content & Destinations
The content, payload, or destination IPs of any traffic passing through our servers.
Persistent Connection Logs
We do not maintain persistent logs of when you connect or disconnect. Temporary operational session data is discarded within 24 hours of session end.
Per-User Bandwidth
Individual data usage is not tracked per account. We measure aggregate server load only.
Session Duration
How long you stay connected is not kept as a persistent log tied to your browsing activity.
Server Selection History
We do not retain long-term records linking your account to which VPN servers you connect to.
Communication Metadata
Recipients, senders, or timing of your encrypted communications are not logged.
What We Do Retain — Limited Operational Data
This data exists for account, billing, and abuse-prevention purposes. None of it constitutes an activity log.
Temporary session data
≤24 hours after session- · Active connection count per account (device limit enforcement)
- · Abuse-prevention signals — no browsing content or destinations
- · Discarded within 24 hours of session end
Cannot be used to identify what you browsed.
Account data
Until account deletion- · Email address (for account access and communications)
- · Hashed password
- · Subscription status and plan type
No browsing history is linked to your account.
Payment records
7 years (tax/legal compliance)- · Payment method type — not full card details
- · Transaction ID from payment processor
- · Amount and date
Handled by our payment processor (Paddle). We do not store raw card data.
Aggregate server metrics
30 days (no user linkage)- · Total concurrent connections per server
- · Aggregate bandwidth per server
- · Server health and uptime indicators
Aggregated totals only — no individual account linkage.
How We Protect Your Privacy by Design
Policy principles need technical backing. Here is how the infrastructure reflects them.
No centralized activity logging
We do not operate centralized log aggregation for user browsing activity or VPN traffic. Our servers are configured with activity logging disabled at the VPN daemon level.
Minimal session data handling
We do not generate activity logs. Temporary connection data used for device-limit enforcement and abuse prevention is not written to persistent storage and is discarded within 24 hours of session end.
Shared IP address pools
Multiple users share each server IP simultaneously. Shared IP pools are designed to make attribution significantly harder and reduce linkability between traffic and any individual account. (See Dedicated IP note below for how this differs on Plus.)
Encrypted DNS resolution
All DNS queries are resolved through our own encrypted recursive resolvers. No queries leave our network unencrypted or are visible to your ISP or any third party.
Dedicated IP and privacy — how they interact
LimeVPN Plus includes a dedicated static IP address — a stable VPN address reserved for your account. This is less anonymity-focused than a shared IP pool by design, because the same IP address is consistently associated with your account rather than being shared with other users at the same time.
What does not change: our no-activity-logs policy applies equally to Dedicated IP users. We still do not log the websites you visit, the DNS queries you make, or the content of your traffic — regardless of which plan you are on. The dedicated IP is reserved to your account for predictable access; it does not create a browsing record.
Independent audit status
A formal third-party audit of our no-logs controls and server configuration has not been completed yet. We are working toward one. When scheduled, we will publish the auditor, scope, and results in our transparency report. We do not claim an audit we have not done.
What Happens If Authorities Ask?
We cooperate with valid legal requests — but we can only produce data we actually have.
Request received
We receive a legal request (subpoena, court order, or law enforcement inquiry). We review it for proper jurisdiction, legal authority, and scope.
We check what exists
Account data (email, subscription status) and payment records may exist. VPN activity data — browsing history, IP logs, session activity — does not.
We respond honestly
We produce exactly what we have: account-level data only. We cannot produce browsing records, IP logs, or session activity because those records do not exist.
Jurisdiction and legal authority
All legal requests are reviewed for valid jurisdiction, legal basis, and proper scope before any response is made. Requests that are overly broad, lack proper authority, or fall outside valid jurisdiction are challenged. Where legally permitted, we notify affected users of requests received. Our transparency report documents all requests received and how they were handled.
